Embrace His True Being
Frances's Article
From the early nurture of the infant period, most men are taught to be a real “he-man”. Some men could easily catch the principles because they are naturally born tough and less driven by affections, we call this type of men “the man of men”. On the other hand, some men who don’t belong to this category might find that being a “he-man” is a constraint of expressing their emotions and an obstacle of being who they really are. However, under the confinement of social norms, the non-“he-men” try to hold their true nature and behave like “he-men”, because they have this fear to find out that “there may be something wrong with them deep down, some weakness at the heart.” This “frantic imitation” is like a little boy who secretly tries on his father’s suit and hopes that he will look like a man in the suit. We can imagine that the boy turn out to be hilarious, because the suit is too big and heavy for him. Every single man has his own nature and charm. Tears from a woman carry her softness, and tears from a man reveal his tenderness. Men who embrace their true being are the real men indeed.
The “100 percent” men and women are at the far end of the gender scale. There are for sure plenty of men and women who wear neutral colors of sexuality. An androgynous man is free to paint his life with colors from the feminine side. He may shed tears for a touching story, he may be affected by moments of emotions, he may chat with friends like women do, he may not be afraid to show his weakness, but still, he is a real man. Similarly, an androgynous woman shares the obvious characteristics from the masculine side. She may talk only when it is necessary, she may work independently and efficiently, she may be tough and reserve her feelings, she may fix the car easily by herself, but still, she is a real woman. Men and women who are “spiritually androgynous” do have more “freedom” in life, because they embrace life with dual celebration and make it more complete.
